really? just men?

Yes, JUST MEN

Well, hoesntly I have never seen a female construction worker.  Not saying they don’t exist, I just have never seen one.
At the same time, what should they write?  They don’t really have room for “Men and Women working” or “People working”

I have seen many female construction workers in my life. Certainly not as many women as men, but still. Also, I think PEOPLE WORKING would fit if they put the words closer together. Regardless, “ROAD WORK AHEAD” would suffice. Why even introduce gender?

This is exactly my point. Why does gender need to be introduced? It isn’t necessary.

But why is it offensive? I understand feminism, I agree with the sensible ideals it holds. However, this is really stretching it. This is something that really has no political statement. There was no harm meant in introducing any idea of gender on the sign. There’s no sense of superiority implied besides the fact that it’s a word. It’s fairly safe to say that no one, upon seeing this sign, subconsciously thinks that men are better/greater/more able to do this job.
There are much better battles to fight, especially with women’s rights. I understand that every issue matters, but this is too radical. If you intend on really finding this offensive, find the 9.6% of women workers in the construction business, and ask them their feelings after stating yours. After all, they’re the one’s that, out of everyone, should take offense to a “MEN WORKING” sign.

If it said “WOMEN WORKING” people would think that was strange.
Posting these images, and others like it, reminds people that the world we live in uses men as the norm, and women as a deviance from that. That is unacceptable to me, and to many women.
This is not “too radical.” This is the underlying story behind every woman’s fight for equality.

I wish Amy Lula and I were actually in love. It’d be so nice. I wouldn’t text her at all but I would take her records but I would always give them back.

[that song was real nice]

I always reblog myself.
Angie got her wisdom teeth out, then went out with me hours later. What a bad ass.
